Straw attacks UK anti-Americanism
BBC NEWS | Politics | Straw attacks UK anti-Americanism:
"Jack Straw has described criticism of George W Bush's state visit to Britain as 'fashionable anti-Americanism'. "
As opposed to fashionable anti-Iraqism which is basically what we and the US were doing.
Jack, we have a right to protest, its nothing to do with fashion, its with trying to stop the US taking over the whole world and us becoming Airstrip1.

Patient died after trolley wait
BBC NEWS | England | Leicestershire | Patient died after trolley wait:
"An inquest has heard that a Leicester man died from a brain abscess after waiting for eight hours on a hospital trolley to see a doctor."
Read the article. It makes me sad more than anything. He was 27 by the way. Jesus, who the fuck in charge of the NHS? why are patients being left to die in corridors? This wasn't bloody Somalia, it was Liecester for God's sake!

Perfect evening?
No, maybe not, but a very good one none the less. A bottle of merlot, The Royal Tenebaums on DVD and now Belle and Sebastian on the stereo.
The Royal Tenebaums is possibly a miracle of cinema in that in one film it manages to draw out the best performances of every member of the cast. I mean the best they have EVER done. Except Bill Murray, he's good but he's never gonna beat Ghostbusters, right?
Everyone else? It's the pinnacle of their talents. Every single one of them is on it like never before, or since. How on Earth Ben Stiller and the Wilson boy went on to do Zoolander I will never know.
Rent it, buy it, enjoy it.

I Can't Even Float In Water This Deep:
"“If that were me, I’d shoot that motherfucker in his fucking shin. Then I’d shoot him in his other fucking shin. Then I’d try asking for my kid again.”"
LOL, kidnap negotiations, R-style....

Security tension over Bush visit
BBC NEWS | England | London | Security tension over Bush visit:
"'The Americans are actually running the security operation in London as well... I'm getting a bit alarmed about the degree of invasion of our capital by the Americans. "
Jeremy Corbyn speaking sense. Surely I have a right to visit the Houses of Parliament? It is after all the workplace of my elected representative? Apparently not. The police are attempting to close most of the centre of London for 3 days as a security measure, Red Ken is fighting back. I seem to be developing a grudging respect for the man.

Tories refuse to be drawn on fees
BBC NEWS | Education | Tories refuse to be drawn on fees:
"Tim Yeo, the newly-appointed Shadow Health and Education Secretary, has refused to be drawn on speculation over a policy change on student fees.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Mr Yeo said it was too soon to comment on education plans under the Conservatives' new leadership.
The Conservatives have promised to scrap the controversial tuition fees paid by university students. "
But everyone knows that they won't.
By the way, Tim Yeo is an evil thief. He has stolen intellectual property on more than one occasion.
And he's ugly as fuck.

TV star's baby handed to gorillas
BBC NEWS | England | Kent | TV star's baby handed to gorillas:
"Television presenter Donna Air and her zoo-owner boyfriend Damian Aspinall intend to place their daughter in the care of a gorilla.
The couple plan to put Freya, who was born in September, in the gorilla enclosure at Howletts Zoo near Canterbury, Kent. "
As if we needed any further proof that Donna Air is as thick as fuck.
This is about risk. Risk is the likelyhood of something happening multiplied by the consequence of that event happening.
The odds of the gorilla damaging the girl may be slight, but the consequence of that event actually happening is massive.
"So, you'd like to apply for a licence to become a parent?"
"Yes please"
"Ok, there's a few questions. Firstly, would you ever hand your child over to a group of primates, such as gorilla?"
"Well, yes, we were hoping to introduce the child as soon as poss..."
"Ok, let me stop you right there...."

More ID Card crap...
BBC NEWS | Politics | Top policeman U-turns on ID cards:
"'If we have got a means of identifying people with reasonable certainty - which this is - then that is what we should be doing.' "
Why? You don't need to ID people, just use those draconian anti-terrorist laws and simply lock up everyone without access to a lawyer or even charging them with any crime. Just like you did in August/September.
Despite all these calls that "these cards would help us fight terrorism" there has be NO ATTEMPT WHATSOEVER to intoduce these in the US, despite the fact that they are supposed to be leading the F.A.T. Why not? Because the public over there would never wear it. We shoudl adopt the same attitude.
"UNT VERE ARE YOUR PAPERS!!!!?????"

BBC NEWS | Politics | Blunkett defends ID card plans:
"Compulsory ID cards are vital to tackle benefit abuse, terrorism and illegal immigration, David Blunkett has said. "
I don't like the word compulsory. Especially when it is used in conjunction with something which can be used against me.
Also, as I'm sure you're aware, if they go for the retinal scan ID option, David Blunkett won't be able to have one as his condition prohibits a scan being taken.
Of course, we could just deport him instead. Hmmm......
